Eagles Nest Winery & Cottage is the first of West Ramona Valley’s premium lodging venues open to the discerning public. This wine-themed cottage located on an operating Winery and Vineyard was designed by Carlsbad architect Travis Deal, and conceptually a compact "villa rustica" or Roman country villa.

Truly a premier offering for a nature-lover, city-escapee, backcountry or golf aficionado, traveling aviator, or wine enthusiast, Eagles Nest is carefully sited on a hillside showcasing a stunning panoramic view of the Ramona Valley. Guests naturally gravitate towards the view and the comfortable outdoor seating on the expansive fully covered stone deck.

This very private, tastefully decorated, and generous 700 sq. ft. cottage built in 2006, is located on its own private site overlooking a Syrah vineyard and a classic green-roofed center arena barn. The cottage and adjacent Winery is entirely separate from, and out of view of the hilltop main residence assuring your privacy.

Eagles Nest features premium amenities including selected victorian antique furniture, flat screen TV and DVD player, premium queen size bed, stone décor bath with large heated whirlpool tub, a romantic glass-door wood stove, neutral décor with premium window treatments, air conditioning, allergy free plank flooring, full-size granite and stainless gourmet kitchen – that even has a pot filler above the gas range and a stainless wine refrigerator to keep your wine selections at the proper serving temperature! In addition to the expansive granite central island, rich oil-rubbed bronze hardware and plumbing fixtures throughout add to the sense of elegance.

The surrounding patio areas feature colorful landscaping, custom concrete work, outdoor seating and a commercial grade stainless grill for your use.

Eagles Nest leverages Eagles Nest Winery and the Ramona Valley’s growing winemaking industry and its recent Federal designation as a American Vinticultural Area (AVA).

Eagles Nest features a tasteful and at times whimsical, eye catching wine themed collection that you will enjoy throughout the residence. These décor items were chosen from wide range of premium sources. Tasteful displays of many award winning local Ramona area wines extend the wine theme.

The cottage has close ties to nature and the rural countryside. Nestled high a hill and between huge natural granite boulders that are incorporated harmoniously into its design, landscape, and surrounding patios. The cottage overlooks our authentic Italian wood-fired pizza oven, and two vineyards - one below and another immediately to the west.

Guests are gladly offered walking tours of the Winery facilities and vineyards upon request. Our winemaker is available to discuss the equipment and our winemaking philosophy.
